Rawls Makes The Cut


The Blues Foundation today announced the nominees for this year's Blues Music Awards. Johnny Rawls's 2020 Third Street Cigar Records release, Where Have All The Soul Men Gone, has been tapped for inclusion in the Best Soul Blues Album category. Johnny has taken home that award twice already. His most recent win was for his 2018 release I'm Still Around, his first for Third Street.


The 42nd Blues Music Awards will be a virtual event this year, streaming live on Facebook and YouTube on Sunday, on June 6 at 5 PM Eastern time. Blues Foundation members can vote through March 12 according to the awards organizers: "Blues Foundation members are invited to vote for the Blues Music Awards. The ballot will be open to current Blues Foundation members only until 11:59pm CT Friday, March 12, 2021. To cast your vote, log in to your Member Portal and once logged in, the link to the BMA Ballot will be available at the top of the page. To become a Blues Foundation member, visit www.blues.org and click on the Join button to learn about the different membership levels and how to easily and securely join online. Upon membership confirmation, new and renewing members will be sent instructions on how to access the 2021 Blues Music Awards Ballot."
